Quiet Rise is a large-scale abstract work composed of flowing blue, purple, and green inks suspended in a sea of negative space. The composition evokes a tranquil ascent—a gentle rise of colour and emotion, like mist lifting from a mountain or water meeting sky. You may see something completely different.

Quiet Rise has taken a number of hours to complete as each layer of ink needs to dry completely before the next is added. I found myself in quiet reflection whilst moving the canvas slightly every few seconds to stain the canvas. Harder than you think but I am very happy that the time spent as created this final version.

The black floating frame really does set this off beautifully and I will be doing a series of these very soon.  This piece will work perfectly in many rooms of the house and in offices.
