I’ve had a few ups and down since renting Studio 3 Art in October 2023. Leaks are never a good thing with an art shop, especially when its in the window!
Fast forward to now and they have been fixed and I am now able to be creative and meet some wonderful local artists who want to display in the studio window and the very supporting public in Rayleigh.
What have I learnt from this experience? The biggest learning is, setting up Studio 3 Art hasn’t been easy. There is a lot to consider and although I have some knowledge in technology, website designs and having a strong online presence is something that comes natural to me. I’m an artist after all… 🙂
I’ve called on those people like Kiel who created this wonderful website and continues to help. He is very patient!
It all costs money of course and although a hobby that turned into a passion, the competitive side of me really wants it to work! I want people to love the art displayed and consider buying originals rather than shop bought replicas. I know they are cheaper but who wouldn’t want an original painting made with love and care.
What do I hope for Studio 3 Art? I would love to see it as a place where people can pop in, look at what I’m working on, be curious in how it is achieved allowing me to share that knowledge. If it inspires you to pick up a paint brush or inks or graphite then that’s great!
I cant explain just how happy I am working with paint and being in my own head for a while with my music playing. Always music and you’ll often see me dancing and singing too. I have no shame…. Its so therapeutic even when I’m splatting painted on a canvas from a distance whilst dancing to the Prodigy or Dolly Parton. We don’t get to do that any more do we for fear of being told off. It really is something you should try so just ask me if you can… the painting rather than the dancing!
So what next? The plan is to have more artists in the window and in the next few weeks, that should be the case. More choice and more designs made by more people. I’ll have a lot of new art hung inside the Studio and would encourage people to pop in and take a look. If you like a style of art or want a specific custom pieces, we can work together and give you something designed together for that special room.
I have also added limited edition prints from some of the originals on display. These all come printed on quality paper and if you buy them through my website, can be delivered to you directly or pop into the Studio and pick up a print. The Studio prints come with a boarder and ready for you to find the best frame to suit your home.
I still have a bit to go before I am 100% happy with my set up and a holiday to take in South America in February booked ages ago. I am excited but due to the delays in getting into the Studio , its sort of come at the wrong time! That said, I’m sure the colours and sights will inspire me to make more art for a new forever home.
